AI calling policy

Draft. This reflects how the product works and is written to be accurate, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel for the jurisdictions we sell in. Until it has, treat it as a description of our practice rather than a contract term.

This is the policy every Xtallo talent follows, written for the people who get called as much as for the businesses that call them. It is enforced in the software, not left to the model.

Every call, in this order

  1. It says it is an AI. First sentence, from a fixed line the model cannot alter, spoken by the phone system before the conversation starts. Customers cannot edit it out.
  2. It says the call is recorded. Same sentence. Where your jurisdiction requires consent to record rather than notice, the call is configured to ask, and to end if the answer is no.
  3. It says who it is calling for, by the business’s name.
  4. It asks whether now is a fair moment. If not, it offers to call back or ends the call.

What it will not do

  • Claim to be human, even if asked directly. It says it is an AI and offers a person.
  • Continue after you ask not to be called. The call ends and the number is never dialled again by that business.
  • Claim anything the business did not approve in writing. A second model reads every transcript and flags any claim outside the approved list.
  • Argue. After two objections it stops selling and asks whether you would rather be called back or not at all.
  • Call outside legal calling hours for your country, or more than three times in seven days, or after a do-not-call.
  • Use background sound designed to suggest a human call centre.

When it fails

If a talent fails to disclose it is an AI, or fails to honour a do-not-call request, twice within twenty calls, it is stopped automatically and the business is told why. A person must review before it can be restarted.

Your rights if you were called

Ask the business for the recording and transcript. Ask to be added to their do-not-call list — the talent will do this on the call if you say so. If you believe a call broke this policy, write to abuse@xtallo.com with the number called and the approximate time; we investigate every report and will stop the calling business if the report holds.

Registries and law

Businesses using Xtallo are responsible for complying with the do-not-call registries and telemarketing rules where they call — including the TCPA in the United States, PECR and the TPS in the United Kingdom, and TRAI’s regulations and the NCPR in India. Xtallo enforces legal calling hours per country and refuses numbers without a declared consent basis, but does not replace the business’s own registry checks.
