Acceptable use policy
Draft. This reflects how the product works and is written to be accurate, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel for the jurisdictions we sell in. Until it has, treat it as a description of our practice rather than a contract term.
Using Xtallo to do any of the following will get calling stopped and may get the account closed. We say why, and calls already connected are allowed to finish.
Never
- Configure a talent to claim to be human, or to avoid saying it is an AI.
- Give a talent the name or cloned voice of a real person without that person’s written consent.
- Upload or connect a list you bought, scraped or rented, for automated calling.
- Re-add a number that asked not to be called.
- Call for emergency services, medical triage, or anything where a delayed or wrong answer could cause physical harm.
- Call about, or collect on, debts you do not hold or are not licensed to collect where licensing applies.
- Threaten, intimidate, deceive, or use the talent to obtain payment details, passwords or one-time codes by voice.
- Call political, religious or charitable solicitations in a jurisdiction that prohibits automated calls for them.
- Circumvent the consent gate, the calling-hours check, the attempt cap, or a stop placed by us.
Only with care
- Debt collection: permitted, within the rules that apply to you. The Collector role is deliberately flat and never threatens; do not teach it to.
- Candidate screening: permitted. The talent asks a fixed set of questions and never tells a candidate anything about the decision. Do not ask it to assess protected characteristics.
- Healthcare reminders: permitted. Do not teach the talent to discuss diagnoses, results or medication over the phone; it confirms appointments and takes messages.
- Consumer cold calling: permitted only where lawful, with registry checks done on your side, and with the consent basis declared honestly when the list enters.
